Senior Embedded Software Engineer Permanent

We currently require an experienced, Senior Embedded Software Engineer for one of our prestigious UK based clients. Ideally, the successful candidate will have experience working within the automotive industry and have knowledge of automotive communication protocols. 

You will collaborate to support and refine existing product code and develop structured code for new systems in a small team of engineers. You will also be highly proficient at developing well documented embedded software in C/C++. You will be proficient working with ARM microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS) and have an appreciation for vehicle electronics as you will regularly be involved in testing and debugging new solutions on vehicles.

The ideal candidate should have an analytical mind and be someone who truly enjoys solving complicated problems using both logical and creative approaches. You will have excellent organisational skills and be able to plan different aspects of a project whilst always keeping the final goal in mind. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work productively within a team whilst also being able to complete tasks autonomously.

Requirements

• 5+ years’ experience in a similar environment using embedded C/C++
• Strong software debugging skills
• Experience working with ARM microcontrollers and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Understanding of automotive electrical wiring and electronics schematic drawings.
• Knowledge of automotive communication protocols 
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
