Finance Specialist / Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Finance Specialist / Senior Accountant to maintain the integrity of our general ledger and provide crucial analysis to support our finance department and other teams. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of accounting tasks and will play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial operations run smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

While the following duties and responsibilities represent the core functions of the role, additional tasks may be assigned as needed:

• Provide technical accounting support in alignment with the latest accounting standards.
• Prepare and process monthly journal entries and account reconciliations, including deferrals and accruals.
• Monitor invoicing against expenses to ensure revenue is recorded in accordance with recognition standards.
• Maintain the integrity of the general ledger in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
• Perform period-end functions, including the preparation of journal entries, intercompany activities, month-end financials, corporate consolidation reports, and departmental statement uploads.
• Manage capital expenditure, including asset creation, depreciation, and disposal.
• Participate in the annual external audit process.
• Engage in the annual budgeting process.
• Prepare local, state, and federal forms.
• Develop best practices to enhance operational performance and productivity.
• Review reconciliations or reports prepared by the AP/AR Coordinator to ensure accuracy and provide backup support.
• Maintain compliance with Financial Policies.
• Support ongoing ERP system process and design improvements.
• Manage bank deposits and applications.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills.
• Full professional proficiency in communication.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred:

• Experience with JD Edwards software is a plus.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
