Managing Director – Finance
General Purpose of Role:
• Strong business-oriented finance leader with proven experience to manage and take hands-on ownership of all aspects of site financial accounting and controlling with the ability to work independently to support the site finance needs while acting in the Managing Director capacity for the site as part of the Site Leadership Team (“SLT”).
• Responsibility for the evaluation of current outsourced activities with focus on developing a plan for future state and possible transition of duties.
• On-going monitoring of the internal control environment to ensure compliance.
Main Responsibilities:
• Support with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements according to HGB and IFRS
• Manage and present the annual budget process and monthly forecasts
• Complete and prepare monthly financial statements and reports including turnover details, variance analysis and financial and capital spend forecasts
• Analyse deviations in production efficiency and report on the development of relevant working capital items
• Partner with site department heads as part of the site leadership team
• Support the identification, application and monitoring of KPIs
• Initiation and coordination of cost reduction and efficiency improvement projects
• Manage the checking account assignment and posting of business transactions in the area of accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Support the preparation and creation of payment runs and their execution
• Posting and allocation of all bank payments/receipts including completion of bank reconciliations
• Ownership of credit control function
• Master data maintenance ownership to maintain integrity of the JDE ERP system data and reporting
• Evaluation and management of inventory control, costs and reporting
• Account maintenance including monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly journal entries and creation/reversal of accrual postings
• Maintenance of site fixed asset register
• Work with Ops teams to calculate and report cost reductions driven by continuous improvement projects
• Successfully completed business studies with a focus on finance and controlling or a commercial apprenticeship with further training as a controller (m/f)
• Professional experience in accounting and/or controlling
• Knowledge of cost and activity accounting
• 3-5 years of professional experience as a controller, ideally in an international industrial company with a focus on plant controlling
• Proficient in the various methods of production analyses and product evaluations
• Past project management a plus
